Strike Day 5 & 6

Following a rejection of the governments pay deal for teachers the NEU have announced two new strike dates for Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May.

From my point of view, any pay deal must be fully funded by the government. This means that schools should receive additional funding to cover increased costs in staffing. Without this commitment we will have to find money for salary increases from the current budget.

The NEU have stated that they are looking at ways to reduce the impact these strike days will have on students taking examinations. We are currently unsure as to what this will look like, but I want to assure you we will do everything we can to support students taking exams.

Though we are not yet in a position to put forward final arrangements for these days, we can state with certainty at this point that Year 10 will not be in school on these days.

As soon as we have a full outline for these days we will let you you.
