Employer Engagement 2 (The Return of Logic…)

After Christmas break, the students on the Mixed Pathway continued with industry visits and one particular visit offered a unique insight into the world of movie special effects.  FBFX is a business operating near Logic and specialises in producing the costumes and effects for Hollywood blockbusters such as Wonder Woman, Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Martian.  Our students had the rare opportunity to visit and see behind the ‘magic’ and get a feel for the effort required in high-end costume design and production.

Logic has now started the second work placement programme with students at companies ranging from Premier Inn and Allianz to a major International marketing company in London, Phar Partnerships.  The skills they will learn are key to setting them up for their effective futures in employment and, of course, to improve second time round.  Also, leading on from the great visit to FBFX, two of our students managed to secure placements with the company having gone through a full HR process including CVs, telephone and face-to-face interviews – really well done!
