Logic School Year 10 Residential Trip to South Wales
Dear Parent/Carer,
I am writing to inform you that we are planning to take all Year 10 students on a residential camping trip to South Wales from 15th to 17th July 2024 this year.
Our aim is to give all students the opportunity to take part in a range of enjoyable and practical activities with their friends in a different environment and finish their first year at Logic in a really positive way.
We will be camping in Llantwit Major, close to the fantastic Welsh coastline at the Acorn Campsite. Facilities including showers and toilets are included. All food will be provided for students by a local catering company and students will be asked to provide dietary requirements at a later date.
The provisional plan is as follows (more precise details will be confirmed closer to the time):
Monday July 15th
- Leave London at approximately 9am and travel by minibus to South Wales
- Practical activities including tent building, a beach visit and a treasure hunt.
- Dinner plus evening activities including possible Team Building and night walk.
Tuesday July 16th
- Practical activities to include paintballing, plus a visit to Cardiff aqua park or Tenpin bowling. This will be run by local activity providers with whom we have worked before.
- Evening option tbc but possibly a visit to Barry Island funfair, bowling or crazy golf plus team games, beach visit, night walk, etc.
Wednesday July 17th
- Breakfast and packed
- Surfing at Rest Bay Porthcawl
- Board coach to return to Logic for approximately 5pm.
The cost of the visit this year is £180 but we have decided to partially fund the cost for each student to ensure that all can hopefully attend. The cost will be £80 per student. This includes all travel, accommodation, activities, food and insurance. We ask that you return the attached medical form and pay a deposit of £30 via ParentPay ASAP. If there are financial issues or questions, please contact me to discuss.
We hope you agree that this will be a hugely beneficial and enjoyable visit for the students. This is the 6th year we have run this trip and students have always had a fantastic and memorable time. Students who do not attend will undertake normal lessons in school this week – not recommended while everyone else is having fun!!
We reserve the right to remove students from a trip or prevent students from attending if we feel their behaviour, attendance or attitude does not warrant their participation. This will be at our discretion and deposits will not be refunded at this stage.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at school via email on j.cadogan@logicstudioschool.org
Yours faithfully,
John Cadogan
Vice Principal
