Taking action
I spoke in our last communication about our ethos; looking forward, looking outward, taking action. Boy, have our students taken action. Our careers fair gave students the opportunity to talk to a wide range of industry professionals, all of whom commented on how impressed they were with our students (Year 10 and 11 especially, sorry 12 and 13!). Year 12 have been undertaking interview practice whilst some of our Year 13 have been preparing their applications to university. In both Year 10 and Year 11 students have been getting down to it in the classroom, gaining an abundance of praise and recognition from their teachers.
Enough with the gushing pride, here’s what you need to know!
Project Based Learning Week (PBL Week) starts on 18th October and will see students participating in a wide range of activities to support the development of ‘professional competencies’, a core part of our curriculum. These weeks are always memorable, so look out for updates on Twitter and our website to see what is going on. Detailed letters have been given to all students to bring home.
A reminder that Thursday 14th October, (next week) is our Meet the Form Tutor evening. This is an important touch base with both parents and students. Meetings are taking place in person between 4pm and 5:30 and virtually between 5:30 and 7pm. Emails have been sent directly to students from their Form Tutor to sign up.
We have already received a number of applications for places in Year 10 for September 2022. Parent referrals mean a lot to us so please do recommend us to your social circles. Shameless advertising over!
Finally, we have a vacancy on our Governing Body for a parent Governor. If you think this is something that you might be interested in, or would like to find out more please do get in touch. I would be happy to talk to you further about what is involved. It is a great opportunity to play a part in the future direction of Logic.
