Opportunities and Assessment

As we continue motoring towards the half term it has been pleasing to see how students across the school have responded to recent assessments. The language we often use here is ‘portfolio’. This represents a short assessed piece of work that will receive detailed feedback, both enabling your child to know their points for development whilst informing the teacher of any required adjustments to delivery.

These also act as examples of the progress that students have made in their short time back with us this term. We know that sometimes assessments can be a source of anxiety, but this is no reason for us to shy away from them. It is important that we all play our part in supporting students to approach these points with calmness and an open mind.

There is, as ever, a lot going on in the coming weeks. Of particular excitement will be our first Personal Development week of the year in the final week before half-term. We have included bespoke letters for each Year group ahead of this, as the normal operation of the school looks quite different during these periods.

Finally, a massive thank you to all Year 10 and Year 11 parents that were able to make it in to see us last week. Notes from these sessions are now available on the links above.
